The Upper Pine River Fire Protection District is classifying a June 21 fire as suspicious.
The fire at 44431 U.S. Highway 160 in Bayfield damaged one residence and attached carport, a second structure used as an office and the two vehicles in the carport before it collapsed.
Upper Pine Fire Marshal Tom Kaufman, working with the La Plata County Sheriff’s Office, has determined the fire is suspicious in its origin.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crimestoppers of Durango/La Plata County at (970) 247-1112. A reward is possible.
