Since the end of the draft, only about 1 percent of us have borne the burden of serving in the military and protecting our country. These few volunteers have fought and sacrificed to protect America, while the rest of us have just gone about our daily lives.
Now is the time for the rest of us to stand up and fight for our way of life. What am I talking about? An assault on the foundation of our democracy – free and fair elections. According to both the CIA and FBI, the Russians carried out an intense and successful cyberwarfare attack on our November elections.
Why should you care? Because if the Russians can influence our elections, they can undermine our very way of life. Regardless of which candidates we supported, all Americans should be outraged about this.
Vladimir Putin is a bully who cares only about Russian interests. He isn’t going to stop at just one attack on us, regardless of who is in the White House. The Russians will try again and again to destabilize and weaken America in many different ways.
Please take a few minutes to call Rep. Scott Tipton and Sens. Michael Bennet and Cory Gardner to ask them to support congressional hearings on the Russian cyberwarfare assault, and to demand appropriate retaliation. Freedom isn’t free, and now is the time for all ordinary Americans to get some skin in the game.
