Vallecito on – and through – ice

Nearly 200 ice anglers showed up for the 2015 Winter Fishing Contest on Saturday at Vallecito Reservoir, according to Jim Schank of the Vallecito Conservation and Sporting Association, the organizer of the event. The event featured $1,000 first-place prizes for the largest pike, the largest trout and the heaviest stringer. For a related story, see Monday’s Herald.
