Hospice of Mercy offering grief support group
Hospice of Mercy is offering a 10-week week grief support group for individuals who have experienced the loss due to death. The group will meet at Mercy Regional Medical Center, conference room D, on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. beginning Feb. 24. Grange hosting pie-bunco night
February is Great American Pie month. If you have been to a Harvest Supper or Easter Supper at the Mt. Allison Grange, you know that there are some good pie makers in the community. They will help us celebrate the yumminess of pie during a game of bunco starting at 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21 at the Grange Hall.

County fair holding contest for theme ideas
The La Plata County Fair Board is currently accepting theme ideas for the 2015 La Plata County Fair. Themes should reflect the family and community nature of the fair and be 10 words or less. Artwork is encouraged and can be dropped off with theme concept submissions at the La Plata County Extension Office at the fairgrounds or mailed to: La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave., Durango 81301. Please label your submission(s) with your name and telephone number. Entries must be received by 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26. The winner of the chosen entry will receive a $100 cash prize.
Kids' Colorguard Camp is Feb. 20-22
La Plata County Independent Youth Performing Arts will hold a cabin fever reliever colorguard camp next weekend in Bayfield, with a meet and greet on Friday, Feb. 20, and activities on Saturday and Sunday. Sessions will be for ages 4-9, 10-13, 14-18, and 18-plus. The cost is $10. Scholarships are available.
Participants will learn basic dance/ body movement and equipment handling, a brief choreographed routine and a short performance for parents. There will be opportunities for those who want to continue in colorguard.

Pilates Connection is now Bayfield Wellness Center
Bayfield Wellness Center has moved to its new location at 871 CR 501 across from Bayfield High School. The center offers Pilates and yoga classes, as well as Weight Watchers, massage, and wellness workshops. An updated website and Facebook are coming soon.
