Youth must be accompanied by an adult during derby
VFW Post 4031 will host a youth fishing derby from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday Aug. 28 at the post, 1550 Main Ave.
Children ages five to 12 are invited to participate, but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian age 16 or older for duration of event. Anglers should bring their own fishing equipment if possible. Experienced anglers area invited to attend to provide guidance and mentorship.
Registration begins at 10 a.m.. The derby will take place at the Pond east of the Fish Hatchery. The hatchery will stock the pond prior to the event.
There will be hot dogs, ice-cream and awards after the derby on the VFW lawn.
