Vice president or workforce group in New Mexico accepted to leadership fellows program

Associate Vice President for Workforce and Economic Development Lorenzo Reyes was accepted into the Leadership Fellows Program through the National Community College Hispanic Council.

NCCHC prepares Hispanic leaders for America’s community and technical colleges. It also promotes and provides professional development opportunities such as the annual Leadership Symposium and the Leadership Fellows Program.

Reyes is one of 24 members of the 2021 Fellows Class selected from community college candidates from around the country.

Reyes participates in Four Corners Economic Development and works with city of Farmington, San Juan County and tribal agencies. He has formed partnerships with the Navajo Nation Department of Self Reliance and the Ute tribe and tracks the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act funding, ensuring program eligiblity.

Reyes developed a business model for the Quality Center for Business, overseeing it and the Small Business Development Center. Both the Enterprise Center and the QCB were instrumental in helping businesses receive federal funding through the COVID-19 pandemic.
