Visit Durango Board of Directors seeks new member to represent retail sector

The Visit Durango Board of Directors is currently accepting applications to fill one vacant seat representing the tourism retail sector. The board is seeking a qualified, passionate individual to help fulfill its mission and contribute to the continued success of destination marketing for the region.

Board members serve to steer destination marketing for the region’s tourism industry and foster open communications with Visit Durango. Applicants interested in representing the tourism retail industry segment must be employed by, or own, a company involved in promoting outdoor recreation in Durango or La Plata County. The role of every board member is to provide strategic tourism insight, guidance and support to the organization, as well as promote tourism in the Durango area.

Members of the Board of Directors shall serve without compensation. Basic responsibilities include representing, in an equal and fair manner, the businesses sector they represent, attending monthly board meetings held on the second Wednesday of every month, familiarizing themselves with important Visit Durango operating policies, participating as needed on board committees and attending annual board retreats.
