The Volleycats and BHS Wolverines played hard but did not advance out of regional volleyball action on Saturday.
Bayfield started off Region 8 play in Manitou Springs by defeting Brush three games to one, then lost to Manitou Springs in three straight games, 25-16, 25-23, 25-20. Manitou Springs is the regional champ.
In the 2A regional game, Ignacio lost to Paonia 25-21, 25-20, 25-21, then to Ridgway, 25-18, 25-16, 25-20. Ridgway moves onto the state tourney.
