Durango School District 9-R is accepting applications for a volunteer position on the Board of Education for District E until the biennial school election in November.
Applications, with a letter of interest that includes the reason for applying and relevant qualifications, are due by 4 p.m. July 20.
To be eligible, candidates must be registered voters of the school district, residents of the school district for at least a year and currently reside in District E.

Volunteers must submit applications and letters of interest by 4 p.m. July 20 to the board clerk, Sarah Berggren, at 201 E. 12th St.
The board will interview candidates during a public meeting at 5 p.m. July 25.
