Volunteers are needed to help with Christmas Tree Train rides during the end of November and beginning of December.
Volunteers are required to attend a training session from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum, 479 Main Ave. Pizza and soda will be provided. Four to six volunteers are needed each day to ride the train, greet and assist visitors, sell tree-cutting permits and help guide visitors to cut down trees.
San Juan Mountains Association, FireWise of Southwest Colorado, San Juan National Forest and Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad will host the third annual Christmas Tree Train, with departures at 9:45 a.m. and returns at 2:45 p.m., Nov. 25, Nov. 26, Dec. 2, Dec. 3, Dec. 9 and Dec. 10.
