Vote for experience in LPEA election

Some of the challengers in the upcoming LPEA board elections have two things in common: money and experience. A surplus of the first and a deficit of the second.

Radio spots, yard signs, print ads and mass mailings cost some serious bucks, and it makes me wonder who’s bankrolling these candidates.

It seems more like a political machine than just a contest between some local folks.

It’s bad enough we have deep-pocket special-interest groups influencing our political process.

Let’s keep these shenanigans out of our cooperative.

When it comes to experience, the incumbents have that hands down. Strangely, the contenders count this as a hindrance rather than a benefit. Being knowledgeable in your job allows you to utilize past experience, weigh potential benefits and outcomes and simply do a good job.

In Districts 2 and 4, I urge my fellow cooperative members to vote for Davin Montoya and Joe Wheeling. They’re moving us in the right direction at a steady pace while balancing everyone’s needs and concerns.

In District 3, Michael Bell has taken the time to attend board meetings to educate himself on the issues and therefore is the best candidate.
