‘Vote for our future, Prop. HH’

Our children deserve a quality education.

Colorado is ranked 49th among 50 states in teachers’ pay. Our kids are our future and educating them is our responsibility. Not providing the funding needed to educate our children so they are prepared to contribute to society is an utter failure and a disgrace. Almost 20 years of educational budget cuts must stop.

Teaching – especially these days – is a challenging profession, yet it does not get the recognition it deserves. While in many other countries, only the top 20% of students can become teachers, in our country teaching has been getting a bad rap and is now a less desirable profession.

A livable pay matters when choosing a profession and poor pay for teachers is the reason many school districts have not been able to fill teaching positions. Neither do many school districts have the needed funds to update facilities or purchase study materials to prepare our kids for a rapidly changing job market.

Proposition HH, besides reducing property tax increases and other benefits for Colorado communities, will provide the needed funds for our educational system after decades of budget cuts. While HH is not perfect, it will modify the Taxpayer’s Bill of Right stranglehold on Colorado’s budget process. Because our children are our future, they deserve a quality education instead of being 49th in the nation.

Please, vote for our future, vote for Prop. HH.
