Vote Paslay, Hill and Gulec for 9-R board

Academics should be at the forefront of this school board campaign. It should be kids first in this campaign. The national outcry to stand up to efforts to silence parents, discourage transparency and promote half-truths is alive and well here in our town as well.

The information seen in “Save 9-R Schools” is the newest local attempt to slander the candidates who are fighting for academic excellence. Kristine Paslay, Richard “Dean” Hill and Donna Gulec are fighting for parents to be partners in their child’s education. That’s is why there is this outcry, candidates Andrea Parmeter, Richard Peterson and Erika Brown. Parents want in-person access to school board meetings instead of being shut out. And they are candidates who value their freedom of speech. Responsible speech.

Here’s from a parent: “We need to focus on the academics and not on the social reform and politics in our schools ... But the emphasis on equity, critical race theory, etc. are just dividing us and not appropriate in the school setting. I am not for bullying people because they are different but that doesn’t mean sexual issues should be front and center and shoved down our kids throats.”

We need change. Vote Paslay, Hill and Gulec.
