Ted Compton will get my vote for La Plata Electric Co-op board of directors District 3 (Durango) when my ballot arrives in mid-May. Compton has the technical education – dual degrees in engineering; leadership experience – a professional energy executive; history – four generations in La Plata County; and a future-looking passion for the work of energy delivery.
Compton is focused on ending our reliance on Tri-State's polluting sources while balancing reliability and affordability and bringing clean energy generation closer to home. This would result in high-paying local jobs and investments in broadband, electric vehicles and battery storage.
Compton is an unaffiliated voter acting with nonpartisan, issue-based decision-making. His varied community service includes board membership of FastTrack Broadband and La Plata Open Space Conservancy. As a team member with Colorado Advanced Industries Grant Program, he has helped bring $2 million in new technology investment to Durango.
Compton will carry the substantial progress of LPEA forward with one eye on the bottom line and one eye on the technology. What more could our citizenry want in an LPEA board director? Join me in voting for Ted Compton for LPEA board of directors.
