Vote Walsworth for better leadership

I am casting my vote for Tim Walsworth in the Democratic Primary race for La Plata County treasurer.

I have a unique perspective on both Democratic candidates. I worked with Tim at the Durango Business Improvement District (BID) for three years. He and I were an effective team together, and I valued his leadership style. He empowered me to share the responsibilities of the office and gave credit where it was due. Tim created a work environment that allowed me to do more for our constituents, which made our organization better.

I left BID to take a job at the county treasurer’s office working for Allison Aichele. I loved working with Tim, but I needed a job with benefits that BID simply could not afford. Unfortunately, Allison’s leadership style did not create a good work environment. She brought politics into the office, which I found to be unnecessary since the treasurer’s office is not a political one in any manner. She also misled me about what my duties would be working for her. I felt bullied and beat up every day in her office. I resigned after only six weeks.

Tim has the financial expertise needed to be our next treasurer, and he also has the leadership and management skills to create a team of loyal, hard-working and efficient employees.

Ballots are due by June 26. Please join me in voting for Tim Walsworth for La Plata County treasurer.
