Vote ‘yes’ to keep crews ready to respond

Durango Fire and Rescue is asking for support of a mill levy increase for their operations.

What few folks realize is that the majority of the calls these days are in response to medical or rescue emergencies. Yes, fire alarms are still in the mix, but you or your neighbor’s heart attack or bad fall or auto wreck keeps them constantly on the move.

You need the firefighters and emergency medical services personnel to have up-to-date training, up-to-date equipment with enough staff and volunteers to respond quickly.

A vote for the modest property tax mill levy increase only costs dollars a year; compare that to diminishing responsiveness for you and your family and friends.

Vote “yes” on the mill levy.
