The “Stan the Marathon Man” event will be held at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 9, at Durango Community Recreation Center, 2700 Main Ave.
A 5-K and 10-K run, 5-K walk, kid run, mini-sports expo, living-assistance expo, silent auction, chip timing, hula dancers and musicians will be featured.
Entrants of the 10-K “Rough and Rugged” race will run to the top of Chapman Hill. The 5-K will be along the Animas River Trail.
Proceeds go to the Alzheimer’s Association Durango and Fort Lewis College Foundation’s Athletes to End Alzheimer’s scholarship.
