The city planned to shut off water to a 3-to-4 block area around Park Elementary school to fix a broken water line Friday evening.
The water outage was expected to start around 6 p.m. and is expected to last between an hour and a half to two hours, Director of Utilities Steve Salka said.
“We are trying to get this over and done with as fast as we can,” Salka said.
The city notified all the neighbors that would be affected, he said.
Residents and businesses in the area may experience discolored water caused by sediment when service is restored, the city said. Officials recommend flushing water lines by turning on the cold water and running until it’s clear – usually 15 to 30 minutes.
