Water outage reported Monday morning

City doesn’t know when water will come back on

An emergency water line repair was underway Monday at the intersection of Florida Road and Oak Drive, cutting off water service to businesses and homes in the area, according to the city of Durango.

Water service will be interrupted along Oak Drive, Elm Place, Aquarius Place, Willow Place and the south end of North College Drive, the city said in a post.

“Crews are on scene and will remain until the emergency water line repair has been completed, and water restored. Unfortunately, with the nature of construction, we do not have an estimated time when the emergency water line repair will be completed, and water restored.”

Drivers, bikers and pedestrians are encouraged to exercise caution, follow all construction signs and flagger instructions, the city said.

Any questions or concerns can be directed to the city of Durango Utilities Department at 375-4801. Anyone with an emergency should call dispatch at 385-2900.

“Crews are working in this area and may expand the water service interruption to stop water flow. If you are within the affected area, we greatly appreciate your patience with us at this time,” the city said.
