Water utility project to close traffic lanes on College Drive, interrupt water service

The city of Durango’s Utilities Department will start replacing water service valves Monday at the intersection of East Sixth Avenue and College Drive. Lane closures are expected while construction crews are working in the right-of-way.

Replacing valves will also cause periodic interruptions of water service to residents in the immediate area. The project construction is expected to last through Jan. 12. Motorists are encouraged to use caution while driving in the area and use detours if possible.
