Well, it’s been a while since we have been treated to one of Denise Murray’s rants (Herald, Jan. 27). It seemed like a rehash of some of her old material, confusing fact and fiction.
She is entitled to her opinion of course, but it would be nice if she would simply qualify it as such.
I suppose while she was composing that letter, scores of Durango women were returning home from the Women’s March on Washington. I won’t get into the head count, but the turnout was “huge.”
I wonder if she took time to see the hundreds of her fellow Durangoans peacefully marching down Main Avenue in over 10 inches of new snow? That crowd was “huge” as well, five blocks of marchers, men, women and children of all ages and ethnicities.
This new president will have to deal with those of us that won’t settle for “alternative facts.” The very simple truth of the matter is that this president invents his reality; he says one thing one day and denies it the next.
If you feel the need to go to Snope’s or Politifact to check on any of Murray’s assertions, feel free. You could also simply trust you own two eyes and ears. We are patriotic Americans, and we love our country as much as anyone.
We are proud to show it.
