Weed spraying scheduled in Durango

Noxious-weed spraying will begin Wednesday and continue through July 7, weather permitting, at Cemetery Road, Greenmount Cemetery, Schneider Park, Santa Rita Park, Roosa Avenue, Riverview Sports Complex, Riverside Medical Center and along the Animas River Trail.

The city, which contracted with Tres Mesa for noxious weed abatement, promotes best management practices to ensure safety. Herbicides include 2,4-D Amine and Perspective. The weed control has been approved by the Environmental Protection Agency.
