We will likely know the statewide November election results by June 30. Why? Because Colorado has become so blue that whichever Democratic nominee wins the primary will likely win the general election in November. That’s not a conspiracy theory; it’s electoral math. Only the more conservative congressional districts, like ours, remain highly competitive.
Why so blue? Because today’s GOP is sadly dysfunctional, focusing on divisive issues like LGBTQ+ children and immigrant crime rather than the serious economic, healthcare and affordability issues facing Coloradans.
With that in mind, let’s talk strategy.
Sen. Michael Bennet has served 17 years as Colorado’s senior senator, where he has navigated political currents with dexterity. He understands Washington. Should the Senate shift to Democratic leadership, he could chair major committees such as Finance, Intelligence or Agriculture.
Conversely, Attorney General Phil Weiser has traveled Colorado’s interstates and scenic highways extensively during his eight years as attorney general, getting to know counties, local elected officials and the concerns facing communities across the state. He has also studied Colorado’s 12 main departments and their related divisions and offices at the highest level.
He has concrete plans to make Colorado more affordable, from preschool and job training to health care and housing.
Please support Weiser for governor and keep the seniority of Bennet in the Senate.
