The Trump/Barr/Republican leadership position is that:
A president cannot be indicted while he’s in office;
The attorney general’s decision to exonerate the president is not subject to question;
Congressional committees have no right to examine critical evidence of possible presidential crimes;
And when the Founding Fathers drafted the Constitution, they had no interest in protecting our country from falling under autocratic rule even though gaining freedom from it was the purpose of the American Revolution.
