Marking the official start to winter, 5-year-old Sonya Tocco, daughter of Paul Tocco, warms her hands next to one of many bonfires Saturday evening on East Second Avenue. Joining her are Scott Baker and his dog Shelby. Merchants between Seventh and Eighth streets participated in the second annual “Welcome Back the Light & Celebrate a Scandinavian Winter Solstice” event. Other activities included tarot readings and live music.
