Free yoga and dance classes offered

The third annual Wild Roots Yoga and Wellness Festival will be held Saturday, Aug. 21, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Flanders Park in Dolores.

There will be free yoga and dance classes all day at the Wild Roots Yoga studio across from the park, said festival organizer and yoga instructor Alana Connelly.

Check out belly dance and Zumba classes and different styles of yoga, including restorative and aerial.

“It is an opportunity to try something for free that you are interested in or might not have known about,” Connelly said.

At Flanders Park, a wellness panel discussion will take place at 10 a.m. Practitioners will provide information on healthy living and alternative healing. Questions are encouraged.

The panel includes a Mayan abdominal therapist, massage therapist, Reiki practitioner, esthetician, and somatic therapist.

Vendors for wellness, health, outdoor activities, artists, Tarot card readers, essential oils, supplements, and pet vendors will be set up at the park. Massage therapists will offer 15-minute massages at reduced prices.

Jamie and the Dreamers will perform music, and there will be food vendors.

“The festival is about bringing awareness to the community about different options for wellness,” Connelly said. “There are a lot of different ways to help keep you and your family and pets healthy.”

This year, the festival moved to the park at the request of the town.
