As longtime Durango residents and active community members, we’ve worked closely with John Witchel on a wide range of local initiatives. Based on years of firsthand experience, we can say with confidence: John is exactly the kind of thoughtful, committed leader we want representing us on the LPEA board.
We’ve collaborated with John on projects supporting KSUT, American Rivers, Animas High School, the Fort Lewis College Nursing Center, and through the Office of Economic Development and International Trade, helping bring state grant funding to local businesses.
During the COVID-19 crisis, we saw John step up when our community needed it most. He volunteered at vaccine clinics, provided much-needed tech and IT support, and led emergency fundraising efforts to keep food banks stocked when supplies were low.
Across all of these efforts, John brings a consistent and deliberate approach – he listens, does his homework and helps translate good ideas into meaningful, lasting results.
At LPEA, John has already delivered measurable outcomes: keeping rates stable, improving grid reliability, and helping lead the transition to a more resilient, locally controlled energy future. He brings deep experience, a collaborative spirit, and a strong commitment to the long-term health of our region.
We know John well, we trust his leadership and we support him fully. We hope you’ll join us in voting for John Witchel in District 4. It’s easy – just log in to your online account and vote at https://lpea.coop.
