What about the airport and its name?

Let’s laugh a little. A local eatery is advertising on local radio to have people come and enjoy the only salad bar in Durango. When you go in you can build your own at their bar. When I go for a salad, I don’t want to build a salad bar, then stock it, then make my salad.

The airport terminal idiots are still at it. The citizens haven’t voted but they want to go ahead with the new terminal. Then they say it’s not so bad being 842 in a standing of 1200 airports, and blame it on high elevation, being off the beaten track, etc. Then the word is citizens have to come up with $35 million, the Federal Aviation Administration might give $35 million and users maybe $10 million and then flimflam San Juan County and Montezuma County into coughing up the same.

It’s a few hours to Albuquerque where you can go anywhere.

And change the name. How about McCaw Mesa Regional or Wayne J. McCaw Regional? He gave the right-of-way for C.R. 309. What happens when the C-130s crush the sewer and water lines that will have to go under the runway because the east side is all gravel hillside and a sewage system cannot be built in it?
