What to watch: Colorado Division I college football for week four

Colorado has big matchup with Baylor to open Big 12 play

Colorado Division I college football teams and all Division I college football teams are gearing up for conference play. Some have already started but soon enough, all nonconference games will be over. Fans will hope their teams got out of nonconference play as unscathed as possible. Here’s what matchups Colorado Division I schools have this weekend:

Baylor Bears at Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday at 6 p.m. MT

Where: Folsom Field, Boulder

How to Watch: FOX

Records: Colorado is 2-1 overall after winning 28-9 at Colorado State last Saturday. Baylor is 2-1 overall after beating Air Force 31-3 last Saturday.

Line: Colorado is either a 1.5 or 2-point favorite depending on the sportsbook.

Notes: Colorado will compete in its first Big 12 game since 2010 when it left the conference for the Pac-12. The Bears and Buffaloes haven’t played since 2010.

Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders picked Colorado State apart last week, going 36-49 for 310 yards and four passing touchdowns. Wide receiver Travis Hunter caught 13 passes for 100 yards and two touchdowns. He also had an interception playing cornerback.

Baylor running back Bryson Washington had 12 rushes for 106 yards and a touchdown against Air Force.

UTEP Miners at Colorado State Rams on Saturday at 3 p.m. MT

Where: Canvas Stadium, Fort Collins

How to Watch: truTV

Records: Colorado State is 1-2 overall after its 28-9 loss at home against Colorado. UTEP is 0-3 overall after its 28-10 loss at Liberty

Line: Colorado State is a nine or 9.5-point favorite depending on the sportsbook.

Notes: Colorado State quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi struggled against Colorado going 22-39 passing for 209 yards and two interceptions.

UTEP last won a game on Oct. 25, 2023. It came close to beating Southern Utah in week two but lost 27-24 in overtime.

Skyler Locklear has been the quarterback for all three games this year for UTEP. He went 26-43 passing for 244 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions against Liberty.

Northern Colorado Bears at Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks on Saturday at 6 p.m. MT

Where: Homer Bryce Stadium, Nacogdoches, Texas

How to Watch: ESPN+

Records: Northern Colorado is 0-3 overall after losing to FCS Abilene Christian 24-22 last Saturday at home. Stephen F. Austin is 1-2 overall after losing at McNeese State 28-24 last Saturday.

Notes: Northern Colorado plays a FCS opponent for the second straight week in Stephen F. Austin. FCS is the level below Division I FBS.

The Bears lost on a game-winning field goal by Abilene Christian as time expired. Northern Colorado rushed for 241 yards and three touchdowns as a team.

Stephen F. Austin blew a 24-14 lead against McNeese State. Lumberjacks quarterback Sam Vidlak had 241 yards passing, three touchdowns and an interception. Running back Qualan Jones had 155 yards rushing for Stephen F. Austin.
