It’s the best time of the year to be a sports fan. MLB Playoffs are going on, the NFL is in full swing, professional and college soccer are on, college basketball and the NBA are starting in less than a month. Then you can’t forget about college football. It’s crazy to think Division I college football teams are almost halfway done with their seasons.
The Colorado Buffaloes had a dominant win at the University of Central Florida last Saturday 48-21, despite being 14-point underdogs. Colorado is on a bye this week. This leaves matchups for Colorado State, Air Force and Northern Colorado. Here’s what matchups those schools have this weekend:

Records: Navy is 4-0 after a 41-18 win at UAB on Saturday. Air Force is 1-4 after a 31-19 loss at Wyoming on Saturday.
Line: Navy is a 9.5-point favorite
Notes: Air Force is at the bottom of the Mountain West standings with an 0-2 conference record. The Falcons allowed four rushing touchdowns last week against Wyoming, including two by the Wyoming quarterback.
Falcons quarterback John Busha completed 6/13 passes for 115 yards against Wyoming. Air Force only had two receivers catch passes. It had 205 yards on the ground against Wyoming.
Navy quarterback Blake Horvath leads the Midshipmen in rushing and passing yards this year. He threw for 225 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown against UAB last week.

Records: Colorado State is 2-2 overall after a 27-17 win against UTEP on Sept. 21. Oregon State is 3-1 overall after a 38-21 win against Purdue on Sept. 21.
Lines: Oregon State is either an 11 or an 11.5-point favorite
Notes: Colorado State rebounded well two weeks ago with its win against UTEP after an embarrassing loss to Colorado. The Rams rushed for 224 yards as a team. Running back Avery Morrow had 21 carries for 156 yards and two touchdowns for the Rams against UTEP.
Colorado State quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi 602 yards passing, two touchdowns and four interceptions through four games.
Oregon State had four touchdowns and 341 yards rushing against Purdue. Jam Griffin led the way with 137 yards rushing and a touchdown. Anthony Hankerson had 89 yards rushing and two touchdowns for the Beavers.

Records: Montana State is 5-0 after its 37-17 win at Idaho State and Northern Colorado is 0-5 after it lost 28-7 to Cal Poly.

Notes: Northern Colorado’s losing streak reached 17 games with its loss against Cal Poly. The Bears haven’t won a game since Nov.12, 2022, against Northern Arizona.
The Bears only had 126 yards passing and 120 yards rushing against Cal Poly. Northern Colorado gave up 290 yards on the ground.
Montana State had four touchdowns and 268 yards on the ground against Idaho State.
