What to watch: Colorado Division I college football week 14

Colorado looks to bounce back after tough loss to Kansas

It’s hard to believe, but the college football regular season is almost over. It’s the final week of the regular season. Next week, the top teams will play for conference championships. Soon, the bowl games will be upon us and the first-ever 12-team College Football Playoff.

Colorado’s loss to Kansas last weekend means the Buffaloes have an uphill battle to get to the Big 12 title game. A lot needs to go right for Colorado and Buffaloes fans will be scoreboard-watching some other Big 12 games. Here’s a look at what matchups Colorado Division I college football teams have this weekend:

Oklahoma State Cowboys at No. 25 Colorado Buffaloes on Friday at 10 a.m. MST

Where: Folsom Field, Boulder

How to Watch: ABC

Records: Oklahoma State is 3-8 overall and 0-8 in Big 12 Conference play after a 56-48 home loss to Texas Tech last Saturday. Colorado is 8-3 overall and 6-2 in the Big 12 Conference after a 37-21 loss at Kansas last Saturday.

Line: Colorado is a 16.5-point favorite

Notes: Oklahoma State was 3-0 to start the season and was ranked No. 14 in the AP Top 25. The Cowboys have lost eight games in a row since then and are dead last in the Big 12. Colorado had won four games in a row and had covered the spread in eight consecutive games. Both of those streaks ended when the Buffaloes lost to Kansas last Saturday.

The Cowboys lost to Texas Tech despite 343 yards passing, two passing touchdowns, 165 rushing and five rushing touchdowns. Oklahoma State allowed Texas Tech quarterback Behren Morton to throw for 401 yards and four touchdowns.

Colorado couldn’t stop the run against Kansas and allowed Jayhawks running back Devin Neal to rush 37 times for 207 yards and three touchdowns. Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders has 266 yards passing and three passing touchdowns in the loss.

Utah State Aggies at Colorado State Rams on Friday at 1:30 p.m. MST

Where: Canvas Stadium, Fort Collins

How to Watch: FS1

Records: Utah State is 4-7 overall and 3-3 in the Mountain West Conference after its 41-20 win at home against San Diego State last Saturday. Colorado State is 7-4 overall and 5-2 in the Mountain West Conference after its 28-22 loss at Fresno State last Saturday.

Line: Colorado State is a six-point favorite

Notes: Utah State dominated on the ground against San Diego State with 323 yards rushing and three touchdowns. Quarterback Bryson Barnes led the way for the Aggies with 193 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. Barnes also had 139 passing yards and three passing touchdowns.

Colorado State lost to Fresno State despite outgaining the Bulldogs 402 yards to 331 yards and having a 22-18 first down advantage. The Rams’ loss snapped a five-game winning streak.

Rams quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi finished with 302 yards passing, one touchdown pass and an interception in the loss.

Air Force Falcons at San Diego State Aztecs on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. MST

Where: Snapdragon Stadium, San Diego

How to Watch: FS1

Records: Air Force is 4-7 overall and 2-4 in the Mountain West Conference after its 22-19 win at Nevada last Saturday. San Diego State is 3-8 overall and 2-4 in the Mountain West Conference after its 41-20 loss at Utah State.

Line: Air Force is either a 3.5-point or four-point favorite depending on the sportsbook.

Notes: Air Force has won three games in a row after losing seven in a row. San Diego State has lost five games in a row since starting the season 3-3.

The Falcons didn’t complete a single pass in their win against Nevada. Air Force had 319 yards rushing and three touchdowns. Owen Allen had 107 yards rushing and a score and Dylan Carson had 105 yards rushing and a score for Air Force.

San Diego State was led by Marquez Cooper’s 118 yards rushing and a rushing touchdown in its loss to Utah State.
