The 2025 college football season isn’t over yet, but meaningful games are for Colorado’s Division I college football teams.
Sure, there could be some meaning for teams to finish the season on a high note with wins to send their seniors off the right way. Coaches will see meaning in these final regular-season games to see young players continue to develop. These final two regular season games could be the difference between a coach keep or losing their job.
However, every team wants to get to the postseason at the beginning of the year. All three Division I FBS Colorado college football teams (Colorado, Colorado State, Air Force) don’t have the chance to do that after last weekend’s results. The two final regular-season games are meaningless in getting these teams to a bowl. It’s the first time all three of these teams have missed the bowl games since 2018.
The schedule goes on with all three of those schools expected to lose in Week 13. Colorado returns after a week off with a tough home game, Colorado State has a tough road game, and Air Force also has a tough home game. Here’s a look at what matchups Colorado Division I college football teams have this week:

Records: Colorado is 3-7 overall and 1-6 in the Big 12 Conference after its 29-22 loss at West Virginia on Nov. 8. Arizona State is 7-3 overall and 5-2 in the Big 12 after its 25-23 win vs. West Virginia last Saturday.

Freshman quarterback Julian Lewis got his first start for Colorado and finished 22/35 for 299 yards and two touchdowns. Lewis was the third quarterback to start a game this season for the Buffaloes. His 299 yards were the most for a Buffaloes quarterback in a game since Colorado’s win against Wyoming on Sept. 20.
The Buffaloes fell behind 9-0 in the first quarter against West Virginia and couldn’t recover. Colorado’s run game was a big problem as the Buffaloes only finished with 51 rushing yards. Mountaineers quarterback Scotty Fox Jr. got the win against Colorado, despite finishing with 202 passing yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. West Virginia did finish with 167 rushing yards.
Arizona State also faced West Virginia in its last matchup, with Sun Devils quarterback Jeff Sims finishing 19/28 passing for 207 yards and three touchdowns. Sims also led Arizona State with 17 carries for 81 yards in the victory. Sims has won his last two starts since starting quarterback Sam Leavitt had season-ending surgery.
