‘When I complained to USPS, stonewalled’

I live in a rural area with mailboxes on the road. The postal delivery I have experienced is dismal. For example, squeezing packages into my mailbox that don’t fit, whereby I’ve had to use pliers to pull these boxes out of my mailbox.

When the box is too large to squeeze into my mailbox, it doesn’t get delivered. The post office claims it will notify me if carriers can’t deliver a package so I can pick it up there. This too, has never happened.

My property is on a manageable road, less than a quarter mile from the road where the mailboxes are. The United States Post Service use to deliver larger packages to our property and place them in a box set up. United Parcel Service and FedEx still deliver packages to our property, but USPS refuses to do so.

As a result, I have lost packages. When I have complained to the post office, I have been told the carrier is required to deliver packages to our property. Then I have also been told they are not, then again I have been told that is the carrier’s prerogative. When I have complained to USPS customer service, I have been stonewalled. The bottom line is I have a significant problem with a huge institution that doesn’t care about its customers and refuses to listen or do anything to improve this situation.

I’m hoping this letter might garner enough attention to push the postal service into doing its job properly.
