President-elect Donald Trump was recently quoted as saying to some very wealthy friends: “You’ll get your tax cut, don’t you worry.” Just who, exactly, is going to be paying those taxes that the wealthy will no longer be paying?
Higher taxes on diminishing Social Security benefits? Perhaps more usurious interest rates on student loans? How about cutting any sort of health care benefits? (Hey, if you can’t afford medical care or insurance, you deserve to die!) Or maybe huge cuts in all sorts of social programs that help non-millionaires (or worse yet, that help people of color.)
All you non-wealthy people better hang on for the next four years; it’s gonna be a very bumpy ride!
