Our elected officials at the national level pretend to care about health-care costs. Yet, the Internal Revenue Service deductible before medical costs that can be counted on the 1040 has gone from 3 percent to 7.5 percent and now 10 percent in the last few years.
Wouldn’t it make sense to allow all such costs to be deductible from gross-adjusted income?
I suppose they prefer to “give” us some visible benefit like ACA (Obamacare) rather than have it buried in the tax code.
