Why no reporting about COVID-19 cases at Mercy?

I’m wondering why the Herald isn’t reporting on what’s going on right now at Mercy Regional Medical Center with COVID-19?

A fully vaccinated friend of mine with a breakthrough case of COVID-19 went to Mercy for an antibody infusion Friday morning and was told that Mercy is “absolutely swamped” with COVID-19 cases right now. Another friend told me that there were no available beds in ICU because of all the COVID-19 cases.

I was not at all aware of this situation and most of the people I’ve talked with aren’t aware of it, either, thinking somehow Durango has managed to dodge the big spike that’s currently going on statewide. For the sake of our community, I hope the Herald will investigate and report on this. Durangoans need to know that we need to be extra careful once again!
