I’m speaking now as an American citizen, not a Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, Independent, white, black, brown, yellow, gay, straight, Catholic, Jew, atheist, feminist, white supremacist, Trump supporter, Trump hater or any other sub-group that makes up this country’s population.
I’m speaking as a concerned but proud citizen of the United States of America. I do not believe anyone should be allowed to enter this country illegally, let alone come here without the proper documentation or authorization and receive benefits that are then subsidized by taxpaying citizens.
The misuse of our medical system by illegal immigrants is a travesty that not only costs us billions of dollars annually, but also reduces the effectiveness and timely implementation of medical care to us, taxpaying U.S. citizens.
When they cross here illegally, they should not be placed in state or federal facilities waiting for a sponsor. They should be immediately transferred back to the country they either are from, or whose border they crossed.
So yes, I am most definitely in favor of very strict immigration laws, and if that means we must build a wall to keep our borders secure, then so be it.
Should we be willing and responsible to provide medical services, in this case an abortion, to a 17-year-old who comes here and disrupts our judicial system by making demands of our medical system when she has no right to even be here?
I don’t think so.
