You walk into a diner, sit at the counter and realize the guy sitting on the next stool is really cutting them. You get up, move eight stools over and the air smells clean and fresh. It cost you nothing.
Perhaps an analogy to La Plata Electric Association and Tri-State. There is research that suggests electricity can be generated much cleaner than coal at a price that is the same as coal. And get this: after 5 to 7 years, it would actually be cheaper than coal generation. If this is shown to be true, then why would LPEA spend more money on the polluted, stinky electricity than on the much cleaner non-coal generation? Why deal with farts if you don’t have to?
Please vote, in the LPEA board election, for the candidates who have shown a real willingness to truly and objectively explore these ideas and act accordingly.
