William O. "Bill" Conlon

William O. "Bill" Conlon, 61, died Sunday, July 6, 2014 in Durango. A celebration of Bill's life will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at Southwest Assembly of God, 3199 South Wadsworth, in Lakewood. There will also be a celebration service planned in Hudson, Ohio at a later date.

Mr. Conlon was born Dec. 23, 1952 in Lakewood, Ohio, the son of Francis P. and Mary J. Conlon (Gulling).   He grew up in Broadview Heights, Ohio and graduated from Padua Franciscan High School. He attended the University of Akron for his bachelor's degree in accounting.  He moved to Denver in the early 1980s.  While in Denver he attended the University of Denver for his master of business administration degree.

While in Denver he worked at Commercial Office Products (later Corporate Express) where he met his wife and companion, Cathy Sansone. 

Bill had a goal to move to Bayfield after purchasing property in the mid 1990s and in 2009, Bill and Cathy built their home together in Bayfield.  He worked at Sound Track (Throttle Up) as an accountant in Durango. 

Bill was an outdoorsman, avidly hiking, camping and skiing.  He was a professional sports fanatic, especially the Cleveland Browns. Bill is remembered as being quiet and contemplative.  He was a thoughtful man. 

He is survived by his wife Cathy Sansone of Bayfield; brothers Tom of Hudson, Ohio, John of Blue Bell, Penn., and Joe of Jacksonville, Fla., and numerous nieces and nephews.

 He was preceded in death by his parents and extended family.
