Early bird weekend passes for the Durango Wine Experience, which will be held April 28-29, are available now at DurangoWine.com. The passes, valued at $175, are available until Dec. 31 for a discounted price of $140.

The weekend features a Friday night Walkabout at multiple locations and a Saturday afternoon Grand Tasting at the Smiley Building lawn, as well as educational seminars, wine dinners and unique tastings.

There will be hundreds of wineries, regional artisan spirits and local craft beers represented. New this year, the Wine Experience will include a grant opportunity for 10 local nonprofit organizations to participate at the weekend events. Details about the grant application will be available in January.

Proceeds from ticket sales and corporate sponsorships provide the Southwest Community Foundation with funding to bolster its mission-driven work supporting the nonprofit sector in Southwest Colorado.
