I love my option to vote, and I do vote. I am registered with a party but I don’t vote for the party, but for the candidate I think will do the best job for the position. That does not always make it easy to defend my position, but it is what works for me.

I have been fortunate to live in La Plata County for a long time. I am a little long in the tooth, so I have seen a lot of changes – not always how I would like to see it changed but not because I didn’t vote for or against the change.

From how I look at it, La Plata County is in for more unpleasant changes if it doesn’t keep Duke Schirard as sheriff, and so I encourage everyone who can vote to look into this campaign and vote for Duke for sheriff.
