Wolf Creek Pass reopened

Wolf Creek Pass was closed Friday morning while the Colorado Department of Transportation conducted avalanche control work.

U.S. Highway 160 at Wolf Creek Pass has reopened Friday after it was closed for avalanche control work, according to Colorado Department of Transportation’s traveler website.

The closure was done at 10:24 a.m. between mile markers 144 and 184, between Pagosa Springs and South Fork. The top of Wolf Creek Pass is at mile marker 166. It had reopened by 12:09 p.m.

Wolf Creek Ski Area reported a trace of new snow Friday morning and 2 inches from the latest storm.

CDOT’s traveler website, cotrip.org, reported dry conditions for U.S. 160 over Wolf Creek at 1 p.m., and dry conditions also on Coal Bank, Molas and Red Mountain passes.
