Wolfwood’s seventh annual art and silent auction Saturday

Wolfwood will hold its seventh annual art and silent auction from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad depot, 479 Main Ave.

This is Wolfwood’s only official fundraiser of the year. Money raised sustains the animals throughout the winter months.

This year has been a challenge for many people and businesses in the Four Corners, and Wolfwood was not been spared. In addition to losing its main ambassador, Trinity, Wolfwood faced doubling veterinary bills because of aging animals and unexpected illness.

In addition, it was recently asked to accept 13 abandoned animals in Pagosa Springs that have stretched its recourses to the limit.

Guests will enjoy the music of Lacey Black, souvenir beer or wine glasses, beverages of their choice combined with food donated from area restaurants. There will also be live wolves. Tickets are $25 and will be available at the door.

The live auction items remain on display at Four Leaves Winery until Saturday.

The event will be held in the railroad’s grange building. To get there, go through the museum.
