Womenade grateful to donors

The Womenade Council is sincerely grateful to donors for their generosity toward women in our community. The November Womenade fundraiser helped four women with one-time grants needed for new tires, rent, dental bills and car repairs.

Our goal with each event is to provide financial help for women who are normally self-sufficient and experiencing an unexpected financial hardship. Without this help, these women would begin a downward spiral that would be difficult to recover from, even in the best of times.

We would like to thank the Women’s Resource Center for continuing to help us navigate through these unprecedented times. They provide us the ability to make decisions that would benefit applicants from the funds received. We cannot do this without their help.

The COVID-19 virus continues to impact working women in our community. Given the current and anticipated financial situations of many of our community members, we are expecting an increase in requests for financial help. We will be hosting an additional fundraiser this year Dec. 14. Please consider mailing donations for Womenade to the Women’s Resource Center, 679East Second Ave., Durango, CO 81301.
