The Womenade Council of La Plata County would like to thank the generosity of donors for their mail-in support. The requests for the one-time grants included rent, phone bill, car, health and life insurances and LPEA past due bills. Because of your support, all applicants received funding.
The Women’s Resource Center continues to provide our community with assistance on many levels. Thanks to them, they have adapted the application process for women seeking the one-time grants through Womenade. Without the help of the WRC, we could not meet the needs of our applicants.
Womenade is a grassroots organization that provides one-time grants to women experiencing unexpected financial hardship. In May, all requested help through Womenade was due to the impact of coronavirus shutdown.
Our next Womenade fundraising event is currently scheduled for July 20 at the Rochester Hotel’s Secret Garden. Given the current and anticipated financial situations of many of our community members, we are expecting an increase in requests for financial help. We hope you can join us, enjoy the company of friends and continue to make a difference in La Plata County.
