Tammy Tyner, executive director of the Woman’s Resource Center in Durango, has left the organization after nine years, according to an email sent last week to donors and sponsors.
“We are writing to inform you that Tammy Tyner is no longer employed with the WRC as the Executive Director effective of 11/5/2025,” the email said, which was sent the same day.
The email, signed by Board President Ashley Truitt, said an interim executive director would be “announced soon to guide the organization through this transition period.”
When reached Monday, Tyner declined to comment on the reason for her departure.
“I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the Women’s Resource Center,” Tyner told The Durango Herald.
The Women’s Resource Center, which has been operating since 1987, “advocates for the personal empowerment and economic self-sufficiency of women and girls in La Plata County,” according to the center’s website.
The organization declined to explain Tyner’s departure Monday. A representative with the group said more information will likely be released next week.
“Please be assured that our operations and programs will continue without interruption,” the email said. “The Board remains fully committed to advancing our mission and serving our community as usual.”
