Bayfield’s Hillyer makes Second Team All-State
Kirstie Hillyer keeps racking up the awards. She was named to the CHSAA Class 3A All-State second team Wednesday after leading Bayfield High School to the state tournament last season.

Kirstie Hillyer killed it all year for the Bayfield High School girls volleyball team.

The Colorado High School Activities Association recognized her with a Class 3A Second Team All-State nod Wednesday.

Hillyer ranked third in Class 3A in hitting percentage at .424 and eighth in kills per set at 3.9. The Colorado State committal also finished fifth in the class in total blocks.

The Wolverines advanced to the state tournament this season but couldn’t advance past pool play after losing to eventual state champion Eaton.

Eaton’s Kortney Lockey was named the Class 3A Player of the Year.
