Work begins near Goulding Creek Trailhead

Special use work will begin near the Goulding Creek Trailhead this week.

La Plata Electric Association has coordinated planned work with Columbine Ranger District of San Juan National Forest. LPEA will be installing an underground powerline adjacent to the Goulding Creek Trailhead access road off U.S. Highway 550, just north of Tamarron.

The planned work should not result in any closures or delays, but there will be heavy equipment operating and a partially opened trench as workers complete the project.

Columbine Ranger District asks forest visitors to avoid the area during the work or proceed with caution when near the Goulding Creek Trailhead. Work is scheduled for the entire week but may need to continue into early next week. All planned work should be complete before the Memorial Day holiday weekend.
