I have a Rad Rover 6 Plus e-bike. This bike has seven gears, five levels of assist, 20 mph electric only full speed and a 40-mile range on battery. The cost for a full charge, using LPEA rates, is under 9 cents. But I don't pay that as I have a 7,800 watt solar array on my roof.
This bike assists my pedaling. It slows down pretty quickly on hills, unless I downshift and pedal, then I can keep going at about 20. Most of my riding is on dirt county roads. I did almost no riding since I was 15, so I'm pretty sure I wouldn't get far by pedaling alone. I love my rides. My last was to downtown Bayfield and back, a 22-mile trip made nonstop in an hour and a half.
Am I bragging? Heck, yes. And just to put this into perspective, I am 71 years old.
