This is in regards to the letter written by Naomi Beans (Herald, July 9.) With all due respect, she is clueless. Like Elaine Hatfield, I have lost a child. It is without a doubt an indescribable journey of survival. She has absolutely no idea of the life-changing, unbelievable pain that child loss brings.
It is clear that Beans has no idea of the facts surrounding this case, nor the pain this tragedy can bring. She is clueless. She should not tell a grieving parent how to deal with this kind of loss. She has no idea how this feels.
In addition, neither she nor I have any clue what it is like to lose a child to murder. How dare she have the gall to tell Hatfield to move on. There is no closure to this case and no closure to Hatfield’s incredible, indescribable loss. Beans is without feeling, empathy and human kindness to believe that she should move on. Until you walk in someone’s shoes, she should not attempt to understand the pain or fight.
Beans has no empathy or understanding, and to tell a parent of child loss to move on is of the utmost ignorance.
